Edison Wazoel Lubua

Abstract

This paper determines the extent of information sharing in government institutions through e-transparent tools. First the basis for the study is set through the background, problem statement and objectives. The discussion then proceeds by focusing on ICT tools for information sharing. An information sharing model is proposed and the extent of information sharing in the public sector of Tanzania through online media is discussed; furthermore, the correlation that exists between the extent of information sharing and factors such as accessibility, understandability, usability and reliability is established.  The paper concludes by providing recommendations on information sharing and how it can be enhanced through e-transparency systems for public service delivery in an open society.
