BER Analysis of BPSK and QPSK Modulation Schemes Using RS Encoding Over Rayleigh Fading Channel

Faisal Rasheed Lone

Abstract

In today’s world data is of utmost importance to everyone. Thus reliability of data transmission has a big role to play. Data is transmitted over various communication channels from a sender to a receiver. All of the communication channels induce some kind of noise in the data being transmitted, thus data transmission over a communication channel is prone to a number of factors that can render the data unreliable or inconsistent by introducing noise, crosstalk or various other disturbances. The number of errors introduced in the data being transmitted depends not only on the encoding scheme and the channel being used but also the modulation scheme used for transmission of data.  In this paper performance BPSK and QAM modulation is compared using RS encoding scheme over Rayleigh fading channel and the result so produced is presented in terms of BER.
